Larger coils?

I detect full time, so I am wondering ( and hoping) if there was anyone making larger coils for the BH? I try to cover as much ground as possible, I would love to see someone put out some larger coils for BH! A 16" to 18" coil would be perfect!! The more ground I cover the more money I earn, and the deeper I can detect the better. I know the 8" and 10" go reasonably deep on large targets(soft drink tins etc). I'd just love another few inches on the coin and ring sized targets. Would the power source be sufficent to power a coil that size? Any ideas or info anyone? HH God bless, Nugget.:ausflag:

Hi !

I don't really know if this can help, but I understand some larger elliptical coil from Fisher (F4?) fit on the BH models. But this needs to be confirmed (I'm just sure it works with BH coils on some new fisher models). Hope this is a good tip.

Been a full time sweeper too, here on local beaches. Hard work and good equipment pay off !

happy hunting !

If I remember correctly, and I'm 99 percent sure I do, Whites made a 15 inch coil for the D series detectors that will work on your BH with an adapter. Keith Wills at East Texas Detectors, http://www.brokendetector.com/. has the adapters and possibly one of the big coils. But don't be surprised if you don't gain much depth on coins over the 10 inch coil. Larger coils go deeper on larger targets but lose some sensitivity to smaller targets.

Thanks for the Info fellas, I will try the link you gave, much appreciated. All the best over christmas, HH God bless, Nugget.:ausflag:

Yes, the Fisher 11" DD coil with the push in type connector plug works on all BH models with the same type connecter. I recently purchased one for my Pioneer 505 and love it. It pinpoints as well as the 8" coil, goes deeper & covers more ground faster. Another great benefit is this coil works well in highly mineralized soil.

I also have a Fisher 11 " DD and it does a very good job on my Pioneer 505 very easy to pinpoint with n seems to me I get some what of more depth with it ,,,

Does anyone know if the Fisher 11" DD or any coil 10" or bigger would work on the Time Ranger. I cannot seem to get any answers from the sites that sell detectors and coils.

You should be able to specify it's for the "old style" BH coil that has the push-in connector as noted above. The elliptical coil is a Fisher model. Other Fisher coils have the screw-on coil connector and they are not compatible. I tried to wire and adapter to swap a Eurotek Pro coil to my Time Ranger and it did not work at all. Different animals. So just make sure it's a push on connector and you're good to go!

Just order an 11" DD coil for the Fisher F2 or F4 with the old style push in connector. That's what my Pioneer 505 has (it even says F4 on the coil).
