Larger Coils for The X-Terra

rifleman

New member
I e mailed Minelab USA and AU yesterday asking for them to design and produce a 14 or 15 inch coil for the X-Terras. If enough people e mail Minelab showing interest in a larger coil, they just might develop one. It would really make the X-Terra the most versatile detector on the market and I'm sure it would increase their sales.
Make your voice herd, maybe they will make a larger coil.

Good hunting, John K

I agree 100%. I Relic Hunt ans most site are hard hunted and 10.5DD coil is best coil. But it would be great have larger coils Like other Minlab Models. Chuck

Just makes it easier for the people who are busy
Cheers!

I would love to see a 14" coil for it, but enclosed/solid which wouldnt suit everyone though, I hate having sticks getting caught up in open web coils. I had one, the 10.5" open and sold it after a few outings, drove me mad in the scrub. Could have put a , or made, a skid for it but the damn things bugged me off that much I couldnt unload it quick enough.
But I reckon it could surprise a few people what the 70 could do with a bigger coil!

I agree. A 12"+ coil is definitely needed for the X-Terra line.

I am not sure what frequency I'd prefer tho...the 18.75 would definitely be up there tho to better detect gold but maybe a bit harder on signal separation. I'd think a 3 would hit coins hard and deep while a 7.5 may be a better balance between the two.

Til a bigger coil (10.5" doesn't cut it on the beach) is out for the X-Terra, it has been relegated to second in line behind the ExpII with the 15" WOT coil. I'd love to be able to put the WOT onto the X-Terra and use the prospecting mode. Now that would be a detector in its own class.

cheers...Keith

but if it weighs more than that, I wont be getting one:cheers:

You can e mail Minelab at www.minelabusa.com
Just look for the contact us section and shoot them an e mail requesting they make a larger coil. I got an e mail back from Minelab the day after I sent mine.

Good hunting, John K
