Larger coils for Explorer XS.

I detect in some pretty highly mineralized soil(it contains a lot of magnetic black sand from Basalt rock.) I think I need more depth to reach the older targets at a 104 year old home site that I've been working. I am mostly after silver coins. The place has a lot of iron trash -of course! I am not sure which coil I should buy. Any suggestions as to what is the BEST choice.
Thanks, Bill

I live on the east coast and hunt in trash everyday.
If you need to go deeper, use the bigger coil. Adjust the iron mask as you see fit to discriminate
stuff out. The best thing about the Explorer is it bangs right through junk to find good stuff.
If the coil finds coin at normal depth it will play a little lilt even with trash all around. Now on depth of 10 plus inches I don't even look at the display. I use my ears and try to pinpoint where to dig. I have found 70 to 80 percent of my good stuff with my big coil. I switched to the smaller coils and
didn't find as much even after convincing myself I would. Johnymuck <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b">
