Larger coil for AT Max

Hi, I am looking for a larger coil for my AT Max....I was leaning towards a Nel Thunder. Then I read some posts about the 13” Detect. My husband has this coil for his Whites Spectra and the connector isn’t the same as the AT Max connector. So are people changing the end or are they made with different connectors and you specify the model you need it for? I’m new to this and just venturing out with some different coils but a little stumped!
Thanks,,
Kelly

Different detectors operate on different frequencies, so the coils need to be tuned for that particular frequency. If you purchase a Nel coil for the MAX, you will have to specifically order a coil for the Max. The Nel coil for the AT Pro also works on the AT Gold, but not the Max. Confusing, isn't it!

I've been using the Detech Ultimate 13 coil from day one and have taken it into some of my well hunted spots using many detectors. I was amazed at the amount of CW bullets I found...and at good depths! Good luck!

I couldn't get a Nel Thunder for my AT Pro, all sold out and don't know when they'll be in stock. I guess their too busy making them for the AT Max. I bought the Cors Cannon instead of waiting. Cors and Nel are basically the same company. I like it. Not too heavy to swing and very good depth.
I don't think you can go wrong with the Thunder.

Didn't have to alter it at all. It was from an At Pro and the connection is the same for the Max. I was told by Garrett that it will work on the Max. So far so good...

Well, I ended up ordering a Cors Strike, which is the same as the Nel Tornado. That was the best option to get to canada in a timely fashion and I read good things about it. Will give it a try in about 5-7 days!
