Larger coil, any preferences and why.

Looking to upgrade to a larger coil for added depth, and field work (cover more area). I was wondering from the guys (and gals), what larger coil do you prefer and why?

Love the 12x15 sef for its ability to id coins on edge better, its phenominal depth, it is not too bad at target separation, and yet has that hefty foot print. It does get a little tiresome but well worth it. And there is always the swingy thingy for relief.

I just purchased the 12x15 SEF also. Good coverage but I don't get solid hits like others talk about. I have about 8 hours with it and it does cover the fields. The down side is weight. I like to think I am in shape and I can only swing it an few hours or so. It kills my right elbow. I 've tried all different positions. Last week I was able to go 4 hours in a field but had to switch out to my standard etrac coil. That Felt like a toy after the SEF, but I finished out the day. My thoughts, good coil for the fields but if you have any disabilities in the shoulder/arm I would try to borrow one for a day to test drive it.

Great stability at higher Sensitivity setting, great depth, lots of coverage area per sweep, easy pinpointing. Weight isn't that bothersome.

Tell JW at KellyCo that I told you to give him a call to buy one!
