Found this doohickey today in the woods, at the site of an old house. Can't really cipher out what it might have been...

Looks made of copper or brass, with holes for hanging something? The boot is silvered brass.

Any ideas?

flattened wrinkled silver boot on a dirty copper doohickey.

A charm ?

See, now that's what I was thinking, too.

It is about the size of a flattened soft drink can - not small, at all.

I am now, as then, thinkin maybe it is a childs booty made into that piece. Much like how we "bronze" a childs first shoes.

Even more interesting is that upon close examination, you notice a pattern impressed into it. The pattern is the face of a small child, maybe even a cherub, repeated all over the piece. If I can, Ill get a pic of it, close up.
The boot segment appears to be a stamping, as opposed to, a flattened old baby bootie. It coild represent the bootie though.
