large necklace

Was out today and found some kind of large necklace it rang in as a quarter on my omega.
I don't know what it's suppose to be the first pic shows a deer and some kind of building maybe egyptian and a man and he's naked shows all so that's kinda weird.
At the end of the 3 triangles is 3 smaller pics one is the old type ship that has the oars coming out the side, one is a bull head with something over the top of it and the other is some other kind of building.
On the other side the 2nd pic it looks like some kind of ancient building the chain has no clasp on it at all but everything is in tact and the pendant is in good shape just one small scratch on the corner on one side.

The chain and the pendant is gold in color but I doubt it being real gold with it ringing up as a quarter.

With is size. it might possibly be gold .. How is the weight? No the less nice find... I also MD W tn... just started back MD after several years.. been digging a few relics the past two outings.. good luck with your next finds..

Is the chain still connected at each end? I see you said no clasp, If it is not connected, could it be that this is a watch fob? I have seen these in all kinds of gold and silver. Just my .02

Rick, neat and interesting find. What kind of weight does it have and was it in the ground? Markings? Maybe you got the honkers honker. HH jim tn

ts, yes it's connected and the chain is solid no clasp anywhere.

jim, I don't have any small scales but it don't seem to be heavy especially the chain someone on another forum said it looks roman and it very well could be the ship is like you see on some of them old movies where the oars comes out the side and you have several hands down below rowing.
it is a neat find my wife is trying to clean it up a bit better.

That's a cool find Rick especially for our neck of the woods I found a gold ring last year that rang in as a quarter had solid gold written on the inside pawnshop said it was from Mexico so you might still have something, and it doesn't look tarnished from the pic's even if it's not still a cool piece.:teknetics:

Could be Victorian or early 1800's. Looks pretty detailed for a cheapie. Check for Hallmarks with a good magnifying glass or jewelers loupe. It may just be a piece of costume jewelry but ya never know!

be very careful cleaning it or better yet....STOP!!!!!! cleaning could ruin it or take away from the value by more than half!! as far as being gold and ringing up as a quarter, large gold or high kt gold will do this!!!!!!!!! very cool find.

Reall cool find, congrats!

good find
