Large Eagle Helmet Pin?

I found this in the Delaware Canal near Easton, Pa.
Oh- I just gave away a site, oh well, the more the merrier.
The Canal broke open with the flood and the thing was bone dry. I have figured out where the best stuff accumulates. Any guesses....
At any rate I put the large cent find (from same locale) in with it for size relationship. She was un-identifiable until I used my electrolysis set-up.
Of the research I did the closest thing I could fine was a late 1800's Indian Wars helmet pin. medallion.
Trouble is most of those were much smaller.
This one has triangular prongs on the back side for attaching. The material is copper.
Could be from more recent times but looks pretty old.
Any feedback is always welcome. HH-aloha Johny Mc.

If you can reduce the pic size and show the entire badge next to a ruler for true size reference, we may be able to ID. I suspect it is earlier than Civil War era, but will need a full view. Include the back as well. Good hunting, David @ Dixie

Dave: here goes. I'm just sending the back side/ruler pic since the front is the same without the indentation and hooks. If this one turns our okay and you'd like the front resized let me know.
Thanks for help in advance. John
