Large coin...what is it?

I dug this at the end of the day today. It's well worn, and is currently soaking in hydrogen peroxide to try and clean it up some. There is writing around the outsides, and at the bottom if you look closely you can see it says "NEW YORK". It may be some sort of token. At first I was hoping it was a colonial copper, but I don't think do now. If anyone knows what this is, please post back. Also, I dug a 1905 Barber dime today too at the same site. Yesterday I got 2 Indian heads there, with one being a semi-key date, an 1870. It's cleaning up VERY nicely right now and I will post a pic when it's done.
Thanks,
Todd

By the way, sorry about the pic. I still have not figured out how to crop yet with my picture software.

I believe it says American Constitution around the edge, might be a hardtimes token.. Will ook and see if i can find it in my book later... unless someone else ID's first

Elevatorguy; Here is your picture resized. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

You were right on. Here is a link to an eBay auction for one. This is made out of bronze which would be why it is so badly corroded, I guess. Brass must corrode easier than copper because I have gotten Indian Heads out of this same field that have cleaned up nicely. Not the coin I was hoping for, but still a cool find none the less. I got one hard times token years also. It was the "Illustrious Predecessor" version. By the way, this medal hit all the way in the upper right hand corner on my EXII. I almost didn't dig it because it was a very flat, monotone sound with no dips and peaks. I thought it was going to be aluminum.
Thanks again,
Todd

Note big coppers e.g. large cents, hard times tokens and the like can peg up in the top/right corner and give a high, but more monotone response. I think that is because of the larger volume of metal verses say a dime or quarter. I dig anything that sounds like that and ID's up in the corner.

Even though it says New York, it is a Robinson's Jones & Co token out of Attleboro, Mass. It's in the Rulau token book with several varities (HT152, 153, 153A, 155 & 156. I'll post a picture as soon as I can scan the page and get it uploaded.
