Large Cents

DEEP-ON

New member
The ground has started to freeze in places here in N.H.I had been busy today running around getting stuff for the holiday, It was about 35F, and late in the day, so I figured I would go hit a close spot for a hour or so, within a half hour I had found 6 large cents, I got a strange sounding 12 46 quarter signal, kinda choppy and kinda a little on the large side to be a coin, but this place is full of iron and I have gotten all the easy pickens, so I have been going after the iffy signals as of late. Anyway must of been a 1800's large cent pocket spill, because there was 5 of them in a 3 inch circle in the hole about 6 inches down, Then I found one more about 15 feet from those. I had a feeling there was some hiding in there, what great find, as the end of the season nears, happy thanksgiving everyone.

Congrats on finding that many Large Cents on one hunt ! :clapping:
Please post some photo's if possible !

Sounds like you hit the copper jackpot; how about posting some photos of your finds ????

Yes guys a post with no pics kinda stinks, I have never done much with the photo's. How do most of you do it, with a phone and send it to the computer, or with a usb cord from a camera, also I havn't cleaned them to much, evry time I have tried to clean up the coppers that I have found before, they start to really look bad after, these have a fair amount of green on them, I think t think the soil around here isn't kind to them. One guy said to put them in ketsup with a little water in it. I will figure out how to get some pics up. Any tips on cleaning copper?

The green or patina is a good thing . Try not to clean but rather soak them in olive oil for a couple weeks then gently wipe dry . They will look great !

FIVE LARGE CENTS in one hole??? Dude! You are living my dream. A large cent is still on my bucket list!

Great find!

Congrats on finding the largie,s!:clapping: I use a camera and then the usb hook-up to the computer.
I took picks on my phone but haven't figured how to make the files small enough to get them to download.
