Hi, I been metal detecting for a couple of years with my tesoro compadre. Haven't really found much, untill last friday, I found and 1810 large cent in EF- 40 condition. Only 4 inches down. I also found 4 buttons one says Rich Gold Coloure on the back and the other says Superior treble Gilt the others I can't read. They are all plain on the front. Any info on the buttons would be helpfull. Thanks-John
 
Hi Lc, sorry i can't help on the buttons, just wanted to congratulate you on the large cent. Way to go! Thats a great find.

the buttons are called flat buttons they some can go back to the 1700's i have found about 73 of them. you should go to the relic page and post it there see what they say.
