I went out this morning for 2 hours & 45 minutes to the spot where I found the 1809 half cent a couple weeks ago. This is in a park, and is a wide field with almost no trees. The good thing is there is very little modern trash, since this is off the park road a ways, and nowadays people don't walk far from their cars. You walk along and get nothing but threshold for minutes at a time. First dig was a pocket spill of three clad quarters, which made me think it would be a good day. Hit the 1817 large cent first, about eight inches deep, and sounded like an indian cent. Looks to be in pretty good shape, I'm only going to dry brush it.
Next was the 1897 Indian, which was in the hole with a 1910 wheat which had been chopped by the mower. Finally hit the 1905 Barber dime, about 7 inches deep. I hadn't found a silver coin for a while, but have been finding wheats and indians on a regular basis here. Lots of ground to cover here, I'll be going back. Pic is everything I dug.
