Large Button Found

Recovered a large button from the site of the Draper Valley Academy. This academy was established in 1873 by a group of private investors, in Pulaski County Va.

The one piece button appears to be made of brass and measures 1 1/2". There is a flower type design on the front with small harts around the boarder. There are no markings on the back.

Any help identifying or dating the button would be appreciated. TomB

I found a very similar button on a lot once owned by the Bordentown Military Institute, which was established in 1885. Don't know anything about it though.

Congrats on the button! It is a sweet find. I do not know anything about it, but well done, Beale.
