Sorry for the poor photo but got tired of trying. Found today in an old campsite field. About the size of a silver dollar and brass. One side is blank and other says OPEN DURING OPERATION. It has a slotted hole that maybe was made for a pull chain. My guess is maybe a steam valve or possibly came from a steam engine. But I really dont know.
