landstar sounding off

Is it normal for detector to sound off when slightly bumped while swinging ?
So far I've been careful not to bump my LAND STAR's coil but when I had a TEKNETICS MARK I LTD, in the 1980s, when I did bump, yeah it would sound off.

Most coils will sound off when bumped, I've had it happen with every machine I've ever owned! Just treat it as gentle as possible, thats all we can do. HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

Thanks for the tip Titan man, I'll set the sens a litle lower and see if that helps me too. HH regards Nugget.

Yep what Titan Man said, but will you lose depth if you lower the sensativity? I am just curious from machine to machine. My machines from Coinmaster to Time Ranger would lose depth.

Mine does the same thing...usually a low tone when I hit a rock or hard weed stem....I still do not know what really causes this though....

HH,

Mine does the same if I accidentally would bump something. Doesn't seem to affect anything though. I just don't try to do that.
