When using All Metal mode to PinPoint your dig... there is the center according to the coil? In the middle of the middle ring or just in front of the middle ring?

As BH-LandStar said, in the middle of the inner ring. What I do is stare at the area inside the inner ring and memorize something in there so that when I move the coil aside that's my target area. However, since I also use a probe I insert the probe in the center of the inner ring and either remove the probe leaving the hole visible or lift the coil over my probe. Usually, when I'm ready to dig, I probe first and I usually touch the target with the probe if it's shallow. That determines the size of the plug which I'm proud to say is usually no wider than whatever is going to come of the hole. And I don't cut a full plug, I leave a section attached so all I have to do is tilt the plug back and retrieve the item and plop the plug back in. This technique is usually sufficient for 75% or higher of my finds.

My detector is a Time Ranger but the coil is the same. I use a golf tee to mark the center but I move it a penny's width back towards me from the center of the coil and then I stick the probe in at the exact center. They are the long golf tees, about 3 inches. If it is a quarter, I usually hit it with my tee (which does not damage the coin since it is wooden). If it is a dime or penny, I can usually find it with my probe. If I do not find it with my probe I can see the tee even if I get at right angles to my original pin pointing and probe some more.
