What? Is this a joke or what? Most mines these days are made of plastic anyway so a metal detector can't see them. That's why they are moving to ground penetrating radar to be able to "see" them I think. Don't get your hopes up on that technology. Even the huge bulky power hungry stuff can't see much detail on coin or ring sized targets from what I understand, or even that they are round, let alone what type of coin they are or say a bottle cap or a round tab.
Hi Critter
Evidently my phone camera won't upload the pics. If I get my reg. camera working I'll edit and upload.
After a little research I found that it'a WWII and at one time the guard or reserve did some training in
the park and must have missed one.
OIC! VERY cool! Makes perfect sense. I didn't mean to sound like I was questioning your validity. I just wasn't sure if you were joking or what. Hey, that mine could be worth a few bucks to a collector you know! Good for you, and I'd love to see a pic!
Wow, what did you think when you were digging it up? Did you think about calling the police or were you already aware of the history of the park and it's WW II activities? Did you see that episode of "Alcatraz" where one of the inmates came back and was planting landmines at all of the parks in San Francisco? Now that one thing that I would like to see those guys on "American Diggers" dig up. What does Rick Savage say all the time "boom baby boom".
