Land ranger pro coils

Hi everyone! New to the forum. I have been running a land ranger pro for a few months now and was wondering what you guy's recommend for coils. I've been looking at the first texas 5" dd but it is a little expensive. But if it works good then it would be worth it! Looking for a good smaller coil for some high trash area's!

Will any nel coils work on the land ranger pro? I see they are a little cheaper but none listed for this model...

NEL coils will make the plug in type coils on any NEL coil, but you have to order them through their Ukraine site nelcoils.com. NEL makes a screw on to plug in crossover that lets any Tek Greek Series coil work on the LRP. FTP has not been as favorable to the Pro line (7,8 khz) IMO. You can buy a Quick Draw Pro detector with a 10" concentric coil for about $30 more than the 10" coil sells for itself.

The best way is to get (or make) the screw on to plug in connector. That way, a whole world of coils opens up. Dealers aren't going to help a lot because BHs are a losing product for them. If one dealer sold the crossover with a NEL Greek Coil, they may open up sales for the many Pro owners that are stuck in this FTP mess of plug ins on the 7.8 units. I guess it's the price you pay for proprietary coils.

I see first texas makes a 5" dd with push in connector for the lrp. But it is really expensive compared to nel coils. I'm kind of curious how it performs! Have you heard anything about it?? Thanks for the info BTW high tone.

CORS Shrew 6.5"x3.5” DD Search Coil for Bounty Hunter Discovery Metal Detector. It has a push in connector. The discovery probably runs at a different frequency though..

The "legacy" searchcoils (corresponding roughly to the muffler-on-a-stick BH & Discovery models) are not compatible with the newer BH's which are in the same family as most of the low to midrange Teknetics and Fisher models. You do however have to make sure you're getting the correct connector.

So looks like all these are the only ones that for sure interchange. Straight from first texas!

Just today put the 5" dd f5 coil on my bounty hunter platinum. The air testing made me happy. Did not check with a ruler but seems like about 7 inches on a quarter. Hurt my back again so when i can move again i want to try it in trashy areas. Good luck with your decision.

Dave will the bh platinum coils work on the land ranger pro? Looks like the platinum is 6 pin and lrp is 5 pin? Even though the lrp looks like it will accept a 6 pin.

Couldn't you use a 5 pin male to male connector and use the Greek series coils that have the female screw connector?

No, those aren't 240 degree 5 pin. 6 pin is fine. the center pin doesn't connect to anything. I'm working on making small batches of adapters. I waited 2 months for some connectors and they never showed so ordered some more.

The 7" coil that comes on the digitek is an excellent smaller coil and is push in. I don't believe it's sold separate yet but the 7" coil on the F11 is and its really cheap if you have an adapter. All the new fseries coils will work with an adapter and are very economical.

Cabela's has a 4ultra coil packaged with their version of Eurotek Pro. I really hope this 4" concentric on the greek platfrom becomes available at some point for dealers to buy. Although it could just be the 6khz variety that will "work" with only 3" depth because is the wrong coil.

Ok thanks! I ordered the 5coil-texb. Was supposed to be a push in connector but they sent me the wrong one. Should be getting the right one this week!
