Im taking it on a little 3 day trip starting today. I hope to have some good loot to post in a few days.

I have mine set up as belt or chest mount. I also made a coupler waterproof seal so it is easy to swap coils or return to original setup.

It Looks real Good to me Ken, you did a real nice job on that, Harold in Fla.

That's a nice version for sure. I too was going to hip mount the head but chose to go for mounting it. The less penetrations through the box the better. I bought 2 boxes when I ordered mine so who knows what the future holds for the Lake Looter. Nice job on the coil connector. Great idea!

I plan on chest mounting with some sort of mounting bag that closes with velcro so I don't have to put any more holes in the case.

Thanks Harold. It sure feels different than the old s-rod. But everyone says the strait shaft is best. So I had the pipe laying around and I bought the bar end used for 2.00 I'm really not out any money. It balances perfect directly under the hand grip.

I had thought that a large fanny pack could do the job. I was going to carry it on my waist behind me. I still might?

That probably makes the most sense. It's least likely to get in the way of target recovery there.
I think you will like the straight shaft you made, I have had both and the straight was more comfortable to me. Maybe that will be my next project.

KHOUSE: Nice work. What an inventor. You got a patent on it? What are you using for earphones? I know you are working wireless, but is the earphone waterproof? I saw in the internet somewhere that they have a waterproof bluetooth for less than $100.00 Get Dirty......Dirty Don

Looks like a good improvement Kenny, My water detector had a straight shaft and was very comfortable easier on the wrist. I ordered the extension cable from Garrett and should get it soon then I will chest mount the 250, better for me to see the readout. HH Ken

Don,
I have a cheap wired unit on the Lake Looter. Tonight I used the detector for about 45 minutes in the water. I'm not sure I like the strait shaft. 2 more days in the water will decide. I'm writing from the lodge I'm staying at fo rthe next couple of days. I took a 45 minute water hunt tonight and recovered a .925 silver ring. When I get back home I'll post a picture.

Using a small diameter ( fat ) inner tube with a round piece of plywood mounted tight in the center of the tube and held tight with electrical ties. Then mount a velcro strap in the center of the plywood to hold the control box. Fasten a short piece of rope to the tube and fasten to your body somewhere ( or your belt ) so it follows you close.

This way one doesn't have to seal the control box or submerse it and it's right there handy to see and adjust.
