I missed my pinpointing feature on the Lake Looter. I solved that problem. I installed a waterproof switch for pinpointing. I was having some trouble with my 5 inch scoop catching the targets. Now I should get the goodies on the first scoop or two. I think this is about the last thing I can do to the Looter. I'm going to hit a new beach or two this weekend. Thanks for looking.

That is a very nice looking setup is it fully submersion proof and what shaft is that. Dan

Dan,
Yes, I have about 30 hours on it fully under water. I made the shaft out of 3/4 copper water pipe.

I really like that garrett could learn something. How much success have you had with it and do you have more photos. Dan

Dan,
I have used this set up on about 8 hunts in the water. I have posted most of my finds on the Garrett forum here. I have found more gold the past month than I have in the past 23 years od detecting! Gold is in the water! I'll be hitting the dry sand when it gets cold. Maybe I'll have just as good of luck.

I'm a remodeling contractor and master plumber so I had everything I needed. Otherwise I would have bought some aluminum tube.

It's not for the squeamish. You have to remove the snap disc and solder your leads to the contacts. Take yours apart and look.

Is the lake looter still holding up? I've been trying to find the plastic box you used, but I don think it is being used anymore.

It was still holding up great when I sold it. I'm saving for a new machine. Here is the box.

Interesting mod! I have an Ace 250 that we use at the beach but it freaks out when you get close to the salt water. We adjust the sens down as well and it still falses a lot. It's great in the dry sand though. Are you using this on fresh water beaches only?

Kenny, what size coil are you using? I made your Lake Looter and it works great but I wish I'd have used the larger coil.
