LAKE HUNT WITH GTI 2500 FINDS GOLD!

Hunt in a Georgia lake. Was fun. Hunted for 11 hours Sat-Sun. Using a 12.5 imaging coil the whole time. I could really tell those big soda cans with the imaging and i.d. Also found a Gold Mine at the lake which I will explore later time. It got exposed by the water being so low. Also found Civil War bullet and a CW uniform tab as you see in pics. Getting Infinium soon, that should make these lakes hunt even more interesting. HH Alan (Ga)

Great pile of loot there and a real nice ring! I got my GTI 2500 about a month ago and only gave the 12.5 imaging coil a quick spin. I did find a ring with it but it was a junker. Also some coins. I had only had the machine for three days and I wasn't used to the increased weight over my Ace 250 and I thought the 12.5 imaging coil kind of through off the balance of the machine. I think Uncle Willy told me to shorten up the shaft a little which helped a lot. I have since lengthened it a bit as my now more powerful arms can take it. That's a joke folks.

Do you find the target ID (not imaging) is accurate with the 12.5 coil? I dug about 10 coins with it. Quarters indicated as dimes, dimes as low pennies. Everything seemed to be shifted to the left about two spots. The imaging worked fine after I figured out pinpointing which is a little more difficult than with the stock coil.

Your post has motivated me so I will try the 12.5 again on a Thursday morning hunt.

Chris,Seems to me the targeting is a notch or so off from the 9.5 coil. But it will tell you basically what type metal you are digging. I love the big coil. I like to cover alot of ground as you see I dig alot. But it does got heavy after awhile, so I just take a five or ten minute break and look around the area or switch my arm. I dont use a bungy system because the less stuff I have to drag around the better. I did note though, in not so hot ground the Imaging works better. I dug pulltabs at 10" and they would actually see it as B size 10 inch on the image scale. Didnt believe it till I dug it up. So the ground in All metal would balance out around 6 ish. The 12.5 coil is not stable in hot ground in All metal unless turning sensitivity down. Disc mode is fine. I use all the Garrett coils at the last notch on the shaft. Seems it just feels better out there in front of me. The whole hunt in trashy areas I used jewlery mode and out in middle of lake I would use All Metal. Hope to here about you using the 12.5. Just rest some if you have to. Can look around and find other spots to hunt while doing rest. HH Alan (Ga)

Hey you're tearing it up with that big greenie. Keep plugging away, maybe you'll find another nugget. THey had quite a gold strike back there in the old days.

It must be tough times in Ga. with those drought conditions, but every time I see those lake beds exposed by the heat on the T.V. news, I think that some MDers out there must be dancing with joy! :wiggle: Super finds! Keep swinging 'til the rain comes home!

:usaflag:The Infinium will amaze you with the performance. As I said before, just make sure to spend some time reading all you can on the machine!!!:hot::garrett:

Great job.
The GTI 2500 is better than a Nortic Track for exercise, don't you think?.
I find (as a cyclist), the GTI 2500 gives me the upper body work out
to offset all the road miles.
Question:
I've heard a number of folks talk about the INFINIUM. What is this?
