Had hopes of going to the same lake today early this morning were it is heavily used but it has been shut down due to a toxic blue green Algae. Got the excal all charged up ready to go And try it out. Have to work today and camping tonight so I hope to get out and scout / find another place to try it out tomorrow . Lol

What state are you in? We get that here in N. Texas, too. But this lake is so big, it only affects small portions. And of course, the hotter it gets, the worse it gets.

The lake is in Worcester, MA it's closed indefinitely ?? to swimmers but boats still have access. I was talking to the beach supervisor and she said the only life gaurd that was is in the water the day before they closed got really sick. She wasn't positive if it was due to the lake but I think I'll get some waders just to be safe if I do go in. I have a wet suit and scuba boots but the waders might be a better choice. I was talking to my father who lives across the street from the lake and neighbors are concerned this year that it's the worse the have ever seen it so I'll probably just stay out because there's no swimmers so no fresh drops anyways.

Dang, that's pretty bad. I've often wondered about the wildlife that use these lakes. They say to keep your pets out, but the wildlife don't know that, lol. I wonder if they get sick?

We had it here on Cape Cod last year. No eating of the fish ... catch and release was permitted. No swimming. Wading with waders and long gauntlet gloves got us in, but why bother if no one is swimming. The lake was open last month, but I saw signs that the algae was coming back.

Wildlife must have better doctors...or immune systems.
