Lake & Beach hunt Difference help!!

New member
Hi everyone

Does anybody knows the difference between metal detecting
on a lake with sand then on the beach

Beaches have conductive salts in the sand plus varying amounts of magnetic black sands. Fresh water beaches may have neither or only magnetic black sands. Most IB detectors cannot handle both conductive and magnetic signals without dialing back the sensitivity thus losing depth. The FBS detectors handle black sand differently and are going to be deeper in mineralized soil than their IB counterparts.
