Friday I had business in the next town over and passed a lot that had a victorian house torn down about 10 years ago. I had poked at the lot back then (before my Explorer) but didn't find much. This time the lot had been skimmed of sod in prep for some construction. The crew was just leaving and since I was planning to play hookey for the rest of the afternoon anyway - I changed clothes and started to swing (the ground was hard packed dirt). I found a minnie ball, a couple cloaker flat buttons and a small flat. Near the end I got a sweet, shallow signal and out pops a Half Reale - 1781! I was stoked !
Saturday evening I was out with my girlfriend and passed a large Victorian office building that was being refurbished. I was back Sunday morning to check it out. The back yard was all paved but the front yard was down to dirt. Out of there came an 1818 LC, 1902 Barber dime (well worn), a silver Rosie, pewter flat button, another button, a Brooks Brothers est. 1818 solid button, and a Wm. H. Harrison 1841 campaign medal.
Super humid in Ct last weekend but the sweat was worth it.
Thanks for sharing. Bruce
