Hi All
Got out to an old swimming hole for about 10 hours of hunting over 3 days. First photo shows the results from each day in sequence with the pencil used as a divider. Last days hunt arranged in a circle. Two pieces of gold with the 14K earring from day one and the 10K ring with stones from day two. Close up photo of the 10K with heart shaped stone looks like smokey quartz? Day three had two rings but both are stainless.
Both of the gold targets came in at 40-41 and were a bit scratchy (nearby iron). Iron reject was set at 38. I was using the big 11" DD coil to cover more ground but found it takes a bit of practice especially in the trash. No doubt not the best pick in the trash but worked great in deeper water with fewer trash targets. It also ground balances a bit differently than the 8" DD that is with different #'s.
Just a question on ground balancing in disc mode. When I do this in the water the numbers seem to continually scroll or change vs. on dry land where they will lock into a specific number in a short period (seconds) of time. However, in the water they just continually change but generally lock in in about the same range as on the dry beach just out of the water. Seems to have something to do with the water. Any one else notice this??
