Kudos to Garrett AT Gold

Well I felt I had to say something about this. I was very reluctent to buy a Garrett AT but after some research I did it anyway because of the good reviews and because I watch Bill Ladd clean up old celler holes with one. I got the AT Gold. All I can say guys is holy crap what an awesome machine. I'm not talking about depth because the 5x8 isn't really made for extreme depth but damned if it doesn't pick up coins right beside and on top of and underneath and around mass quantities of iron!! I dug 7 coins today and each one...EACH ONE...had iron with or around it. I am truely amazed at this detector. I have never been this excited in 20 years of detecting about a machine. I own Fisher, Bliss, Whites but none of them can do what the AT Gold does. Guys you gotta try it. Not sure how the AT Pro is with target seperation but man the Gold is on fire! and I can take it under water. Best purchase ever! I'm not a dealer nor do I know any so I'm completely unbiased. Anyway just thought I would share.

Buck

Just ordered the AT Gold today. Glad to hear your good review. Your enthusiasm makes me feel good about my purchase. What mode were you hunting in ?

I always hunt in mode 1 with iron audio on and sens cranked. The ground was littered with iron and sounded crazy with iron audio on but i caught those high tones sneaking in. No joke there was litterally 2 or three iron bits in the same hole as some of the pennies i dug. Hands down my best detector yet and I have the VX3 Blisstool Fisher 1270 CZ70 and GB2. I will say that the GB2 gets my small nugget deeper than the at gold but ithats a different story.

I hear you Buck if I could only have one machine to use the rest of my life the AT-Gold would be my choice!! I love this machine! I use the same exact settings iron audio on all the time and disc 1.

Ya know I was really leary at first because it looked so cheap and I was dissapointed in my former favorite brand selling out to another company and I just had a bad taste all around but when I got the AT Gold I was pretty impressed at the build quality. the coil is really stout and the housing is really solid too. But man the performance just blew my mind. Now I tested my silver merc today on the Gold with the 8.5x11 that just came in today and the stock small coil and the big one gets it about 1.5-2 inches deeper. What really impressed me is that on the air test the 8.5x11 picked up the dime only a half inch shorter than my blisstool with its 11 inch coil. I don't see why the gold has to be any less good at coin shooting than the pro I would take the Gold coin shooting any day...Great machine.

Buck I have found more silver with the At-Gold than any other machine I've ever owned! Heres a little info for you if you get a 90-91 it's usually big silver both my silver half's rang up there silver dimes are usually a 81-82 on ID. The iron audio on these machines is what make them superb. When you get in thick iron take her slow and easy and listen for those mid tones 52-53 ID's that's where the Buffalo nickels read. And of course dig all high tones. You got a awesome weapon in the AT-Gold.

I love my AT Gold! I love my AT Pro, too, but the ATG with 5x8 is my weapon of choice for the iron and junk infested sites that I frequent. It has pulled many hundreds of keepers from jewelry to silver coins to tokens to militaria from an area that would send many detectorists home with their tails between their legs.

Yea guys I agree its my main coin shooter as of now. Just ordered a 10"D2 for my VX3 so we'll see how that compares. I used the 8x10 coil today and it picked up some really small bullet fragments. Just thrilled with it!
