Kruzer vs Multi Kruzer

Well-known member
Any difference of note between these models except for the obvious multi frequency option of the top model ?

Thank you Dilek

Do you think the Kruser and Multiple frequency Kruser would be equal in results when water and beach hunting for gold jewelry? Thanks Norm

Hi Norm,

I have a sample of the Multi Kruzer and have run some tests. In terms of stability on the wet sand and in the water, as with the Impact, I am finding 14 kHz the best option. 5 and 19 kHz work, but 14 kHz is just slightly better....but I'm sure different beaches may give different results. I also find 14 kHz the best all round for most common coin sizes and gold rings that I've tested. BUT, 19 kHz does have a bit of an edge on very fine rings, chains, earings etc. even if requiring a slightly lower Gain setting. Sometimes a slight improvement is all that is needed in order to hear a target. Hope to do some videos when the wind isn't blowing hard.

So, the 14 kHz Kruzer represents great value, and all-round performance, but if you want to have the edge on low conductors, then the Multi will be the way to go. Most beach hunters here are using BBS or FBS machines (I still use a Sovereign with big coil when I'm chasing depth) but I know they are quite poor on fine jewellery, so will definitely be adding the Multi Kruzer to the arsenal, to work those eroded gutters where jewellery is often hiding. I will also most likely add the open web 9.5x5" coil for even more sensitivity, as this coil has been great on the Impact.

The Multi-Kruzer is a terrific all-purpose detector.

I also have found the 14 kHz to provide very good all-around performance on most targets sizes and conductivities, much like the 15 kHz Nokta FORS CoRe, 14 kHz Racer 2, Impact at the default 14 kHz, and now the KRUZER or Multi-KRUZER working at 14 kHz.

As for search coils, it will depend on where I take my Multi-KRUZER, but the 5X9½ open-frame DD coil I use in low to modestly littered sites on one of my Nokta Relic's or extra CoRe, and have one as a back-up accessory coil for my Impact. The standard 7x11 is OK for open beach hunting, but once coils are available for the KRUZER series My personal pick is the 7" Concentric, then the 5" DD for the very iron littered sites. But the open-frame 5X9½ DD that works so well on the Impact and other models for balance while providing decent detection depth is going to be my pick for my Multi-KRUZER for similar open areas. Where I live, inland from the ocean here in western USA, most of my Beach Hunting is at rivers, lakes and reservoirs and I like the way the 5X9½ open-body coil handles the ground mineralization but still punches down when needed.
