Kruzer or Impact?

Kapok

Active member
I was on the fence about upgrading my R2 to the Impact when the Kruzer announced and now I'm a bit conflicted about which one would suit me better for old coin & relic hunting in mid to high-trash areas on land. I don't water hunt and am far from the ocean. Maybe the combined wisdom of this forum can help me decide on these items. After much deliberation, here are my two biggest decision points:

1. Performance on deeper targets (not just detection but target identification, either by audio or TID)

2. Balance: (For reference, I think the R2 balances well with smaller coils but feels nose heavy with the standard size and larger coil.)

Thanks, everyone!

After doing more research, I decided on the Kruzer. Order has been placed and can't wait for this long Michigan winter to end!

Congrats and good luck. I went the other way when I found a great deal on a used impact pro pak Like Husker football, hope is high!! Just FYI, they sold out our spring game in less than 24 hours and scalpels are asking up to $600 for a $10 ticket. Crazy!!

As awesome as the Kruzer is, the Impact still has a lot of features going for it over the Kruzer.

1. VLX modes
2. 99-tone
3. Gen with Disc (which works like tone break)
4. Gen D mode
5. Internal coil cable
6. Ability to plug in regular headphones - no adaptor cable required
7. Will be better balanced with larger coils (albeit heavier) due to the rear housing
8. A very individual thing, but the Impact handle and armrest suits me better.
9. Built in search light

I'll definitely have a place for both in my arsenal. Prob have different coils mounted to each to further differentiate them.

Dear . kapok
The kruzer is the good choice . why
Because it's very simple and not difficult same like the impact and its a waterproof machine think of that if you want to dig underwater . believe me the MAKRO kruzer is the best machine . regards

Kapok I agree with you. I'm in SE Michigan and we just got slammed with about 12" of snow in the last couple days. :-/ that warm two days was such a tease.
