koss yellow headphones low volume ?

ive noticed the waterproof headphones are really lower in volume as compared to the regular headphones. ive turned up volume to 30 . i still can barely hear the threshold and cant hear it with the waves. i thought about turning up threshold pitch but this doesnt seem to help with low sounding targets. wondering if messing with threshold will lose me depth or maybe i got a bad pair of headphones ? any advice thank you jim

Volume is target volume. It won't impact the threshold volume.

ive got volume level turned up to 30 i think thats max , still cant hear threshold very well over waves with the waterproof headphones , regular headphones work find good volume. wondering if this is the way the waterproof headphones work or maybe i got a bad pair thanks jim

Jim - What Gemini is saying is that the volume doesn't affect the threshold volume :drinking:

Look at page 23 or your manual. You have to adjust the threshold Level.

I just got mine about an hour ago and tried them on in the bedroom. They do seem a little muffled. I will admit I didn't play with any of the settings.

The waterproof GG are way more comfortable and keep the sound out a bit better than the yellow ones. Sound in those is a bit lower than the standard headphones too. I am not sure but I suspect it could have something to do with the fact that the waterproof headphones use piezos not speakers. Thats how they are able to waterproof them.

I replaced the ear pads on my Excal II with a set of P****tor Gel pads and it made the Excal phones a lot more comfortable. I wonder if the CTX waterproof phones' cup dimensions are the same as the Excal phones and would accept the same gel pads?

From what I've seen they're identical save for the connector.
