Koss Headphone " Excal 1000 Question

I need some help for my 3 years Excal headphones (Koss). For the first hour of snorkeling hunting in salt water, volume is load and clear and after an hour or so, the sound coming from the headphones starts to decrease to a level hard to hear a big target. Is this a common sign to replace the headphone?
