The Koss EQ 50 3 band stereo equalizer was mentioned on one forum to help those us us older guys with some high frequency hearing loss by using it with the MD and adjusting it.
I am not sure this will work, but hope it does. I thought an equalizer just filtered out certain frequencies, but really could not actually change them. But I really have no idea how the work.
I have lost my high frequency hearing, for instance the brakes squealed and I did not hear them, but my wife could and the brake mechanic could also. So the question is on the tone range of a fisher detector do they use high frequencies? I have not been tested so I don't know what my threshold is for HF sounds.
Of course not hearing an annoying HF break squeal is fine with me, but maybe missing some coins because of it would be annoying. I have purchased a Fisher ID Edge so I don't know much about its actual operation since I will get it later this week.
