Knives, Guns, and Booty found yesterday

Sven

Well-known member
Took the bus over to an old park, dates to Huron Indian times. Once a golf course in the early 1900, then a rifle range for the army and now the cities largest park where dogs can roam free. And hunted by hundreds of detectorists.

I detected the huge hilly wooded area in hopes of finding one large cent or silver coin. Braved the skeeters and ivy and dug plenty of signals. Lots of pull tabs, bottle caps, tin foil, soda cans, wire, nails. Dug them and kept on trekking.

At the end of the hunt, looked in my pouch and found:

Rusted Hunting Knife
Misc. Rifle shell casings dated 1912-1946
Huge Rimfire shell casing
Small 22 shell casings
Metal shotgun shell casing
1 Round ball

Coins, nothing pre 1980
2--Quarters
2--Dimes
1--Nickel
15-Pennies

Way to go Sven. Is that large rim fire case a .44 Henry? Looks like that knife has been underground a day or too also.

Lots of older finds Sven !
Would have nice to get the older coins also. Next time maybe !!
