I spent all weekend on the puter looking at all the new detectors, reading the pro & cons it came down to 4 detectors, Minelab X-Terra 50 & 75 Fishers F75 & The one I ordered Fisher F4, from what I gathered the Minelabs would might go a little deeper. the draw back was the coils, I have had many detectors in the past and know how well a small coil works in the trash, The Tesoro with a 4 or 7" coil was a killer in my area where I hunt & the light weight was a pleasure to swing. but after owning a Fisher Excel I loved the ID, My wife hunts with a Tesoro Cibola and can run neck to neck with me. We mostly coin hunt and have a great time hunting. she would all ways find a little something That I wouldn't find. So I hope the F4 puts me over the top :) as for the F75 it looks like a good one but again after reading the owners manual and again the coils I went with the F4 I have read from so many people that they were have such a great time with it and it puts the fun back into detecting.

So I hope I have ordered a good one.

Johnny

Hi Johnny, I have had the F4 for a few weeks now & I really do like it. The DD coil that it comes with is very accurate at id'ing, the round coil isn't as accurate (probably just my ground). I tried out a Xterra 30 and it didn't do the job for me. Before that I used a Tesoro Cibola - it is a fantastic machine,as all Tesoro detectors are. I know you will enjoy the F4, takes a bit of practice to get the pinpointing down, with the Cibola you can pinpoint the head of a pin. It takes a good machine to make me happy (believe me) and I am very happy with the F4. You can get a 4" coil for the F4 for less than $40.00 Steve...

Yes I have ordered the 4" coil already :)

When you say not as accurate How far is it off or does it bounce around?

You are welcome, when I have used the round coil it seems to be jumpy. But it might be just my area or me. The DD coil seems to be really accurate. The pinpoint on the F4 is well lets just say different. It is not good or bad ya just have to try it to see what I mean. Alot of people find the F4 to be accurate at id'ing with all the coils - who knows my luck I could of got a bad round coil. Enjoy your new F4! Steve.

Here is a good read on the F4 if you haven't seem it yet:
