Kind of strange

The Golden MicroMax was the slowest seller Tesoro offered, yet now that they are discontinued folks think a used one should sell at new price.

Just making an observation.

I mysef don't know wether a golden umax was a slow or a fast seller.
I do know that if somebody wants me to part with it i want as much as I can get for one of my best detectors.
Is that wrong ???

They will sell for whatever the market will bear. If they are getting big bucks for them there must be people willing to pay. Personally I wouldn't pay big bucks for one, I would rather have a new Tesoro.

I've seen this with other brands as well and like Mike is saying, they weren't that highly thought of when they were current models. Some of those "sleepers" as some have referred to them do sometimes become "Cult" units and I say if you have one and can get twice the amount out of it then it should be worth then good for you :clapping:
I mean for a long time I wanted a Whites Pro-XL but forget that! You can get a Whites XLT for $250.00 and its supposed to have been an upgrade to the Pro-XL, I've seen the Pro-XL go for $600.00

I can't really explain it, but I know it happens with certain models.

had one sold it, better Tesoro modals for sure.

question though are they making a new one to replace the golden?

Hi Jim,
Nope, not wrong at all.

I'm just doing the sour grapes thing cause I'd like to get another but don't wanna pay what everyone is asking. I'm still living back in the day when I could get one for $250

Mike I know what you are saying I bought a used new tone golden 2 years ago for 300.00 used it for 1 year. said some really bad things to it then sold it.
Why would they discontiue a detector that was so good.

I had one, and sold it. Mediocre depth, but the tones were kind of interesting. Then again, the tones were only interesting because it was a Tesoro and a variety of tones is rare with Tesoro. If tones are important to you there are a lot of other manufacturers who do a much better job at it. I wouldn't purchase another even at $250. But that's just me. To each, their own!

 I think that people who want to be loyal Tesoro users have a need for tones and the Golden is the only one that I know of that has tones so people are looking for that model. We can only hope that the new "C" (censored) model will have tones.:detecting::tesoro:
