Killer B's Stinger and Minelabs ?

Southwind

Well-known member
I bought a new pair of Killer B's Singer headphones from Treasure Mountain Metal Detectors and they don't work on either of my Minelabs. I believe the switch must be bad or something. I also bought a pair of Detector Pro Rattlers and they work fine on all my detectors. The Stingers work on my DFX but the switch does not seem to do anything. On my normal pair of Killer B's the switch switches between my DFX and my Minelabs. Is there something I'm missing here?

If they don't work on your CTX or your ETRAC, it sounds like your Stingers may have a bad compatibility (mode) switch. If it were just the CTX that they didn't work with, I'd wonder if they were not wired to provide "true stereo" sound, as required by the CTX3030. (3-wire Tip, Ring and Sleeve, instead of the 2-wire Tip and Ring). JMHO HH Randy

Are you using the WM-10 or plugging straight into the CTX?

Tried both ways and in my E-Trac and nothing but fine in my DFX. I have a regular pair of Killer B's that is basically the same just one headphone. I have to flip the mode switch when I use them on my Minelabs and flip it the other way for my DFX. I pretty sure it is a bad mode switch. Treasure Mountain Metal Detectors was happy to replace them. Good to do business with.
