Killed by Indians.........

Kelley (Texas)

New member
This is a "snapshot" of a father and son grave in the St. Louis Cemetery at Castroville, Texas. The father, Romanus Gross and son, George Gross were killed by Indians while they were cutting fence post on July 11, 1867 three miles southeast of La Coste, Texas, a small town near Castroville.

It was pretty near impossible to compose a good picture when your six year old grandson is pulling on your trouser leg, raising a commotion because he wants out of the cemetery as quickly as possible because two minutes earlier he was told a ghost story. Kelley (Texas)
