Funny, I have a few of those bags myself. Don't know why, but I never toss any of it. I do keep a back of trash with me when I go hunting in parks though. When the park rangers approach and ask how I'm doing, I pull it out show them how I'm helping them to keep the park clean - they always thank me and go on their way.

phinbolt,
For what I am sure are not relics with possible value other than the metal, I sort by metal; brass, aluminum, copper and lead. Most keys go in the brass box, most tags go in the aluminum box. When I get a few pounds in a box, it goes to the metal recycle center. The aluminum box gets soda cans too, so it adds up more quickly. The lead box is next. Helps with gas money. I've got a container of match box and similar cars that go on a table at yard sales for 25 cents. If a kid really wants one and mom says no; if it's OK with mom, they get one or two free. I've got a long way to go to get rid of all the cars.

I bought a Timex expedition about 5 years ago for about $38 after my previous Timex died. It is on it's 3rd strap and second battery. Plating is wearing off and brass shows in many areas. The crystal is pretty scratched up, I need to hit it with the polishing compound again. It goes hunting with me over the dirt and in the water so that when I tell my wife that I'll check in at a given time, I know when it's time so she's not worrying too much. It has kept ticking. Yours looks less beat up than mine. Nice find!
Cheers,
tvr

Now I have a small wooden chest that I collect the Junk Jewelry in. It makes a nice conversation piece and is also Treasure chest to my grand daughters.

I used to tumble junk jewlery and sell 50 or 60 piece lots on ebay. I only got $10 or $15 for them.

I keep all my what nots and stuff in a big jug. I dunno I don't want to get rid of it all. Some of that stuff is kind of fun to go through. I like houw yours is orgnised. Much better than mine, Beale.

Nice collection. You just never know for sure what it is until you dig it.

Unless its just a really interesting item, unless the item has some monetary value I must admit it likely gets thrown out.

I have a box of junk. Two years ago I found out that one of the pieces was not junk and sold it for two hundred dollars.

A lot of cool stuff! I would keep it all!!!!
