Kennedy Space Center in Florida

We attended my old army unit reunion in Daytona Beach, Fl and here are a couple pictures of the Kennedy Space Center visitor center

Picture 1 i believe is the booster rockets and fuel cell for the space shuttle....next one is a display of early generation rockets
Of course its the REAL space shuttle.....they spent a ton of real money to display it.
Last 3 pics are of the Apollo rocket engine......the rocket was way too big to fin in the picture

Some really nice pictures. Thanks for sharing. (wish I'd live some miles closer...)

Thank a bunch......the place was somewhat like Disneyland.....it was a self tour once you were in and i might add it was pricey + the obligatory 15.00 parking fee....nice shiny , newly painted missiles in clusters.......i did like viewing the space shuttle inside the building...bet that cost a pretty penny to display.....they had an IMAX video in 3D ...and that HUGE space shuttle fuel cell and boosters was quite a sight...then they showed how they were going to land on mars and deploy a "building" that would self inflate upon landing ...interesting.
I had hoped to see a REAL space display at the pad. This was all pre arranged by our reunion board so it was a bus deal....

Thank you for sharing your pictures with us. I bet the IMAX show was quite impressive.

Appears that you had lots of fun visiting the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These are interesting pictures and enjoyable to view. You did good...thanks for sharing.

I would like to take the time to again thank you for all the help you have given this Forum in the past. Most folks may not know it, but the caption at the top, the description of what this Forum is all about, was the result of your suggestion and help to define this Forum. Kelley (Texas) :)

Thank you Kelly......Youre doing a great job in keeping this forum going.

We had a great time traveling to Daytona Beach for my army reunion. Over 800 Vietnam vets (from our unit) and guests attended. Some of the guys i had not seen since 1968. The last time i saw them we all had hair and we were all skinny...:clapping:
The brotherhood we had is alive and well.....Ive already committed (the guys wont let me skip it) to attend our next reunion in Kentucky in 2017

Wow that saturn engine is one powerful unit.Ironic really that the German von braun who designed it was developing rockets to destroy the allies during the war.He even designed a rocket that could reach the states but it was too late to see action luckily.
Great pics.

thank you everyone.....the shuttle booster/fuel tank is teh one that impressed me.....that thing is HUGE
