Has anyone tried these yet , how is the sound when you get some wind and wave noise ? I have a set of the grey ghosts but the sound level is bad if you get a bit of wind and wave noise you cant here anything. I like to use the wireless in a dry bag with a set of waterproof dry case ear buds, but as soon as I get the display underwater the signal cuts out ( which is normal ). I've been hunting the the shoreline but it will be soon time to take the ctx swimming again

This may be a dumb question but have you adjusted the volume limit for the gg underwaters. Mine were quiet also until I did and it made a big difference. If not, make sure you connect the headphones then hold down the volume button. Once the screen comes up adjust the volume limit from the preset 15 to 30. My understanding is that all volume levels(speaker, waterproof connection, speaker on wireless, and hps on wireless) all work independently of one another so just because you set it once doesn't make it set for all the others....just a thought..

I have tried 3 different sets....they all pretty much sounded the same to me.

The GGUW originals you have are better at blocking the noise of the outside, ambient noise, then the yellows. The Koss yellows do run a bigger Piezo (50mm) then the GGUW's (27mm), but have very poor ambient noise blocking abilities but they are louder. And you can add gel pads to help, and you can also block the 4 tiny holes for water drainage which help with wind noise. I have the Gray Ghost Amphibians for the CTX but after selling a few sets they are only a few steps up from the GGUW's you have, and then the Koss Yellows are the same as far as audio SPL, but the GGA's are a little clearer because of the non restricted Piezo design. Many have complained about the GGUW originals with the CTX, so your not the only one.

SPL with the Excalibur

67/68 db GGUW Originals

85/86 db Koss Yellows

85/86 db Gray Ghost Amphibians

I might suggest the Gel pads for your GGUW's
