KellyCo Now Does Minelab Repairs

Do you have a problem with "3 Minelab Certified Technicians"? How can you ask "not reliable?" This is brand new people, no one has even had a machine repaired there yet! Keep your negativity to yourself. I applaud Minelab and Kellyco for moving forward with customer service. Thanx for the heads up JW!

Minelab Americas have announced the opening of two new Authorised Service Centres designed to minimise costs for consumers and continue to speed up repairs across North America.

The new Service Centres based in Toronto, Canada and Orlando, Florida, will not only eliminate the high cost of international postage for Canadian Minelab owners, but more than double the total number of Minelab certified technicians: making it even easier for Minelab owners to receive efficient, effective care. Minelab Canada (Toronto, Ontario) General Manager Jack Summers says Canadian Minelab owners now have the assurance that they can get spare parts, routine maintenance and repairs much more quickly. "With the new Minelab Authorised Service Centre up and running in Toronto, Canadian consumers can purchase Minelab products with the added confidence of unparalleled after-sales service and support,

I think it is a good move. They have needed this for awhile..Better Customer Support.

You have to applaud that someone stepped up to give us another service point and that ML appears to want to address some of our issues. Wouldnt it be wonderful if these techs became a face much like JW and some of the Kelleyco people we know. Might get some valuable insight as to how they work and advice if they arent working properly.

Being that KellyCo carries the SEF coils, I wonder if they will be able to wire the SEF for Excal users who send it in for service? Seems like the perfect match, they repair Minelabs and offer aftermarket coils as well, so why not combine the two?

I haven't had any issues with buying detectors from KellyCo in the past. I really enjoyed getting their free catalog over the years and drooling over various things in there. Too bad they stopped putting out that catalog due to the internet being used more. I remember when the Hot Head coils were in it, which turned out to be junk, but it made for some interesting reading until I found out otherwise. I also remember the various coils they had for the Sovereign back in the day when I didn't own a Minelab. I'd sit there and wish I could get a big coil like that for my Whites. Vaguely I remember a large white solid coil that I think was called the Penetrator for the Sovereign, and the reports of guys getting coins super deep with it. Later that name was used on the round open framed penetrator coils for the Sovereign. The first ones of those that were made didn't have very good reports. I think I remember a blurb about them not having the coil pre-amp in them. The newer versions of those coils are supposed to be better, but I still don't see many reports on them from users. I was half tempted to get the 14" Detech coil for a while, but figured the WOT (which I think is 14.25") had a lot more positive reports around it. Had these SEF coils not come out I would have either bought a WOT or an S-12. Some day I may pick up an S-12 to try if I can find a good price on a used one.

You get all bent out of shape cause I asked "not reliable"? I don't know anything about KellyCo, I just saw what goldcoins had posted and I was just asking a simple question. The one with the negativity seems to be you. If KellyCo is reliable I will use them.....

I have been asked hundreds of times by people on were they should buy a detector, how do they go about choosing one... I always say look up Kellyco or give them a call.. They have been great to me

Kellyco has been great to me also. Glad to see minelab has got this going with kellyco:minelab:

You're always better off going to a local dealer if one is nearby. I support the mom and pop shops whenever I can. I bought quite a few machines from the local dealer but he no longer is doing that. He still hunts with us here and there, though.

Kellyco has always been good to do business with.Bought 3 detectors from them in the mid 70s when I was in the USAF.I still purchase equipment from them, from my experience they are first rate.HH Ron
