Keeping track of finds...

TNbear

New member
Newbie here! So new, in fact, that I don't even have my detector (a Cibola) yet - I'll pick it up after work today. I can hardly wait to get started! :detecting:

Question: For those of you who keep track of your finds, what kinds of things do you track and how do you track them?

I use a log I made on microsoft..also a software program called treasure tracker to automatically updates coins....

Greg,

Thanks for the reply! It looks like you have a pretty sophisticated way of keeping up with the coins you've found. Good luck reaching your goal of 10,000!

I was thinking about preparing a simple Excel spreadsheet to track my finds. That way I can sort my finds by different categories. Does anyone else out there do something different? I'm open to ideas...

DFX- Gregg the thing I notice most is the break down of clad here in Canada the common use of dollar and two dollar coins makes it real easy to pile up the clad count. Its not uncommon to hit a sports field and pick up 8.00 or 9.00 dollars in change. Dan

the other one is called treasure tracker a free program that updates automatically...saves from human error...:clapping:

If I knew how to forward it to you I would...it is great for tracking coins....

I noticed that on some of the boards that Canadian coinage adds up quickly...I hit $25 in clad last week with over 400 coins...but I really worked for it...on average I usually hit $70 a month...if I could add up money like you guys I would really hit it hard...good luck...keep digging...:detecting:

For Treasure Tracker Greg might be using, you can get here:

that is the one I use....with all the clad I hunt I needed an accurate program...sometimes my excel logs were not matching up when I did the pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters....now with treasure tracker they always do....been using it for a while now...has saved me a ton of headaches...and any old coins or jewelry I find I just put excel program...this way I have each day logged on the excel...and the running coin total stays accurate on the treasure tracker...

Gregg,
I have that "Treasure Tracker" program also. I agree it is simple...and fast...and accurate. I'd like to learn if there is a version later than 3.0.3, but can't find the publisher. Do you have any info I might use to contact the publisher?

BTW, do you know of any programs for the Apple computers ?
Many thanks, and good hunting.
