On the way to the beach the electronic sign board at the entrance of the expressway said there was an 18km traffic jam, so we went a different route. Wasn't a good start. Lots of traffic on the local roads too due to a national holiday tomorrow (Monday).
So, by the time we got to the beach it was already lunch time. While eating some sandwiches I said to my younger son that today he has to find a big diamond. His reply went like this..... "I'll find one about this size (clenching his fist)" I said "do you think you can?" he replied "YES, a long as there's a pull tab sitting on top of the diamond!" LOL
He got another old silver ring and the equivalent of about US$3 in coins.
More rings came my way, one 18K / 0.01ct (not 'quite' the size of a fist I know - maybe the sea gods just weren't listening carefully to us during lunch?!).
The 1942 half dollar pendant was a real surprise and is shining up very well.
Also the equivalent of about US$8 in modern Japanese coins.
On the way back home the expressway was closed! Oh well, I guess we saved about $10 in toll fees today! The amusement machine coin, bottom left says it all.....LUCKY!
See the link to some other pics today........Enjoy.
Reflection of us stuck in traffic.
Couldn't resist getting a shot of a woman in high heels. LOL
Also, a bird of prey. (wished I had a better lens on the camera for that)
The stunt kites sure were something, six Japanese men with a very special skill of working the kites together. Son sat and watched them for quite a while.
A few more people at the beach as the air temperature increases - about 10C.
That was our Sunday at The Land of the Rising Rings.
