Goodmornin'. Fresh-cut grass clippings on a dewey morning stick to your coil 7 create "Falsing". Happened to me yesterday. Carrying a 2" paintbrush along works pretty good to clean it. :bounty: HH Bigsquid55

NOT SUPPOSE TO MOW GRASS WITH IT  no seriously though haven't had that happen yet

Whites dripping coil covered in grass early morning not a problem with falsing for my machine !!

:usaflag:No falsing with the Ace 250 so far..

Bounty Hunters do NOT like water....I only have problems if water gets inside my coil cover, or sand, or dirt...I would like to seal the cover on with clear silicon, but do not want to gum up the coil...
I clean it out after every hunt

HH,

10 -4 boys. i'll try not to set myself up like that again! LOL But, it did happen. Did score a '51 Rosie that same mornin'. Good Luck & HH

Steve if you beach hunt and have a coil cover on, it will false because sand in the coil cover. I never use a coil cover. I do use a paint brush to brush off the sand from the coil when I am done detecting. Also brush off the sand scoop, that can cause a lot of sand in the trunk of the car if you don't brush it off before putting it in the trunk. Thanks for reading and Happy Trails....Z

Mine did that also, I gave it a coat of under coating. Bed liner works also.

I fixed it for good by getting an Xterra No more falsing in wet grass. Dirt in coil cover still an issue, keep clean.

1" to 2" off the ground. I've done that for decades, usually

Monte, Thats what I was thinking....no one ever talks about wearing a coil out just the wiring or connection.....I don't use them but in some cases I guess it's practical........hh......Dan
