The T2 is a great machine, it's benefits range from dedicated dealers like Jeff to it's Ultra lite weight.

It's not a GTI 2500! Super Heavy machine, limits hunting time do to swinging a 4-5lb detector depending on the accessories you use.

Detecting to me is great hobby. I enjoy all types of Metal detecting from Recovery to yard hunts.

The T2 fills a spot that we've needed filled for a very long time. #1 the T2 is most efficient in all aspects of treasure hunting. From coins to relics, from gold to competition hunts the T2 will do the job! You can not go wrong with T2 and we are just now scratching the surface of what it is capable of doing all day long!
Many have written reviews and are quite knowledgable enough to do so.

It took me almost a year to learn the GTI and I still have learned this month more and more as I use it in conjunction with the T2. Both machines compliment each other. As of today neither is favored but both are equally treasured and cherished for the individual detectors they are!

There has been a lot of controversy in the star of the T2. There was the same controversies with each new top end detector.
Our world has filled up some great machines and everyone wants that great new one on the market that surpasses all of our expectations. The truth is....

The T2 has surpassed what I had expected, The company has been very quick to respond to all of our questions and have handeled those each time surpassing expectations.

Today with the Rev 6 out on market, the new DP tones have expressly made metal detecting more exciting that the old two or three tone detectors. It's just a far better way to manage hearing what you see, but it does take a while to learn the sounds and what it is saying.

I hope this helps. I can not run down or out sell either one of these two great detectors.
I really liked the Whites Line too..But after using one for almost a year(Older Model 6000DI series 3) I got bored with the mono sounds of Whites, The hard learning curve of DFX and went to Garrett. The wife bought a Tek Turbo and I sold the Whites off for a Teknetics 8000.

It was Teknetics 8000 that won my heart, what a fun and exciting detector to hunt with. It actually talks to you with a language that you understand in a short few months.

Sorry for going on so long Sonny ...I hope I haven't confused you more. Detecting is a great hobby. And half the battle of all great detectors is learning to listen to them and then believe what they are telling you!
I'll put this on the website too!
Some others maybe able to assit you in making a decision that you'll be most happy with!
Always do the research ...It's the research you do on a item that will sell you on a product!

Do I love my Tek T2....you bet I do!

You got that right KCK about research. Reading the reviews in here sold me on the T2. And I haven't regretted my choice at all. It's as close to "ideal" as I've found for the places I hunt - areas in moderate to high mineralization loaded with rusty iron.

Yet lightweight, and very simple to use. The Explorer I had was a bear to swing for long periods of time, and took a while to truly get the hang of. You can get the hang of this the first time you take it out, it's really that simple. Yet so very powerful. Just a wonderful machine.
