been hunting beaches st pete area. 2 hours per day se pro for 2 weeks , nothing but clad in soft sand. has anyone ever found any gold in loose sand?

Its there..Ive Found it....But you have to remember were you are...lots of retirees that get up early ...real early, walk out there condo and there on the beach swinging their detector...Ive seen as many as 6 MDers out there at 4AM working the dry sand around the beach bars, cabanas, volley ball courts, towel lines,etc...check out the beach cams when you get up in the morning, all the local news channels have them....hit the time lapse and look for the head lamps working the beach in the early dark hours....you would be surprised.
There is one old guy i run into alot at one beach,I'm either getting there at sun up to water hunt or run into him dry sand hunting in the early hours...i always know hes on the beach as soon as i get there because he does not use headphones so his machine is just beeping away like R2D2 and can be heard for some distance on the beach.....he works the beach rental chairs/cabanas just about every morning..as do others...Good Luck

Have fun, keep swinging and you will find stuff others have missed, just like the coins your finding. I go out into a HUGE area of a lake, sometimes I find gold and sometimes I don't. BUT I always find things I know have been there a long time and I just never got my coil over them. One ring that was just found 2 weeks ago was worth 21 - 23 thousand dollars AND it was lost 3 years ago. Anywhere from 0 - 10 detectorists out in this lake in this spot any given day. Its very true what has been said before. Miss by an inch, you miss by a mile.

You will find the good stuff. I have found a gold necklace and solid gold st. Christopther in soft sand... It was lost the same day and I returned it the family that lost it. You are aiming at gold that's been lost very recently ie, same day. It sinks super fast in soft sand. Keep going! You will find it if it's there :)

Some of its the time of year. If they arent in the water..... they are on the sand. I tend to find a little more gold and silver on the sand when the water starts getting cooler. I use the SE as well and have tested every piece of jewelry the Xcal has ever found NP. In fact its deeper on coins and silver targets. TI.... well it sounds a lot like salt falsing except it repeats. If its silver or aluminum no matter how little ... it will find it. Just learn bottle caps.... everything elce i dig of at least kick with my foot. Not like dirt hunting thou .... not much minerals so if its not nulling you can move pretty fast and not miss much but keep the coil on the sand.....3 inches up and you WILL miss small targets.

Absolutely...there is gold and silver to be found in the dry sand! 2 days ago a lady took off here wedding ring and put it on a beach towel. Later she picked up the towel to shake it off, forgetting her ring was on the towel. Lucky for her there was a guy nearby swinging a MD that was able to find it for her. I have found a fair number of gold rings in the dry sand, working the towel line area in the evening after people are leaving. Persistence will eventually pay off.

Good Luck and HH!
