Will there ever be or is there a upgrade for the red racer to become like the Racer 2 from Makro ? Just a example Whites did it for the V-3 too V-3i ? that would be excellent for us folks that own or just bought the Red Racer

take this in the jest it is given in but if you want to buy a detector that wont have a new modal soon grab a Tesoro :lmfao:

I have nothing to do with Makro at any level other than owning one , but I would say the answer is no, I do understand how you feel we have all been there at some point, I just sold the old modal and bought the new one, and that's the thing when a company is really making head way like Makro & Nokta and the down side is people are going to be left holding old modals. I didn't like the reports on the red racer it didn't float my boat, this one has my attention though.

so I do understand how you feel but I guess its like cars there's always a new modal and we can keep driving the old one or update and seems that this company is pushing forward hard to make a dint in the US market and that's a good thing for us in the long run as it forces the other brands to bring out their stashed tech to hit back nothing breeds tech like competition , but we as detectorests have to draw a line somewhere.

Me as good as this machine sounds I want to see what the Impact has to offer and Fishers 2016 new tech before I make a decision on which way to head.

exciting times ahead and for me I need to exercise some restraint and wait and look see!!

That doesn't seem practical or doable as circuitry formats for modern digitally designed and programs differ. The Racer 2 is simply a newer design with a lot of changes and added features, but at a reasonable MSRP increase.

Other makes and models have had some 'upgrades' available as well, and I can assure you that not all the 'upgrades' were doable or worked very well as the Vision to V3i progressed. The same goes for those who 'upgraded' their Fisher F75 or Teknetics T2.

I know people who had purchased a Jeep Wrangler several years back and then Jeep brought out the Wrangle Unlimited, but they couldn't 'upgrade' to the new Unlimited features such as a longer frame, four doors, etc. It is just a different model offering.

There's nothing wrong with the original Racer. They work great. The Racer 2 isn't a replacement, but a new, additional model to the Makro line-up based on a proven platform with physical and package 'upgrades' at a modest MSRP increase.

The racer 2 is a newer machine and is different. So the racer 1 now seems to be the start of what is coming like the racer 2 and the impact. Maybe on the impact they will let us do updates?

That would be a great idea if they did low/boy
