Just wondering

I was wondering if this has ever happen to you. You pinpoint a target, randomly set your detector down only to have it scream in your ear with another and better target. I found my 1st and only mercury dime this way. I also have found quite a few more coins with my Garrett pin pointer this way. Is it dumb luck or destiny? I would like to hear of some other finds people have made this way.

That has happened to me on more than one occasion with coins. Like you said you locate a target and set your machine down to dig, and your coil has located another target. I don't remember getting a silver coin this way but I have gotten clad this way more than once.

That's happened to me a number of times.---When it does, I move the coil over a little bit & retrieve the first target. When I'm finished with that hole, I either check to see what all the "fuss" was about either with my probe or detector (or both) on the second reading.---With me, it's usually a clad coin or like target close to the surface.---Don't forget to check that first hole (and area) with your coil-- if you got an old target, it's amazeing what else can be down there sometimes. ----------Del

Not exactly the same thing, but my buddy and I were hunting the boulevard across the street from a church built in 1899. I had previously found a couple of Barber dimes nearby. My buddy hollered out that he'd found a Barber dime, and I walked over to take a look at it. After admiring his dime, I walked to a spot about 20' away to show him where I had found one of my Barber dimes the day before, and then back to about 5' away from him. As I stood there talking to him, I was idly waving my coil around by my feet and realized I was hearing a familiar high tone. I dropped to my knees and started digging and was amazed to find yet another Barber dime! Pure dumb luck!
