I know i cant throw my old coins away and they are in little piles everywhere.Hmmmm maybe i can get a coin star installed at my house for all the pennies i find.My wife mention some one else in the family who metal detect has the same problem, man what i learn from tv.

I have one of those big plastic water jugs in the garage that I put all the pennies in, it's only half full and would take a crane to lift it that is if the bottom doesn't fall out.......

The only pennies we save are the wheat cents and older. All others go to the bank and we cash them in with all the rest of the coins. Every penny counts! Even when we find a coin on the pavement, etc. we put it in the "found" bucket. We've had some pretty darn good vacations with that "found" money. HH to all, Nancy

My plan is to use the clad I find to put toward the purchase of a gold coin, so far this year I have $164.87 a good month in April & I should have enough to buy a 2 1/2 dollar gold coin. I call this my 401 k plan. I think it will prove to be better than the stock market.

They do the same thing the people have been doing for a while,Imagine what those gold coins are worth now when they were buying them a couple of years ago probably triple in price.

Starting to drive everyone in the house crazy,i can tell when they move them there is a little circle of dirt left mostly in laundry room and some of window sill. The bank here give you a hard time about taking them so have to use a coin star machine.

Even if you take the coins to your own bank? Those coin star machines take a percentage of your hard earned money.....NO way! Make sure they're as clean as possible and the bank shouldn't care one bit. If they do, too bad. Your money makes money for them too! I think if your bank gives you a hard time about it, it would be time to change banks! IMHO, Nancy

They want your name address phone and want you to have account there trying to get out of taking change. But if it was bailout money for someones bonus they would take it quick

I think I would be talking to the President of the bank if that happens every time that you take your coins in. That's crazy. I guess living in a small town helps out here also. We might have a total of 5,000 people here counting a few cats and dogs. HH, Nancy

All the money I find this year metal detecting will not go back into my hobby as in years past, but will go for guns and ammo. Guns are getting more valuable than gold. HH Dennis in Idaho

Well instead of driving everyone crazy, why not get you a big jug or something specific and put all your found coins in one place. That is what I do. I have a big open mouth jar and I put all my clad in there everytime I go detecting.

I tumble all my clad finds clean and either trade for greenbacks or spend it. Of course I don't do that with any older coin that may have more than face value.
