have only been out twice. Hit an old lot where they tore down the house. A couple of IH's, some wheats, a 1924 buff nickle in nice shape, lots of stinkin lincolns and whatzits. Hamstrings were creaky the next few days!!
I live in NE Nebraska. Where are you located in Iowa?? Bob.

Honestly have not been out much this year. Only a few trips--just been getting stuff done that didn't get done last year digging... oops!

I did however find my first silver coin! YAY! Well, I will count it, as it IS a silver coin, but I snagged it at a tot lot in the wood chips. I didn't really have to 'work' for it.
A 1944P nickel.

Still, it is my first silver coin!

Nailed a 10k gold ring with three opals that weighed in at over 7 grams the weekend before last.

I was at the park with my Compadre.

So this season is starting pretty good for me!

Things are going good so far total for March with both detectors is $52.14 (found $19.88 this weekend with other detector) total for the yr is 102.45, no silver coins but did find a small silver pendant, no solid gold rings but did find 2 that were plated (one has diamonds? still have to have them looked at to see if they are real) and one 1924 wheat penny. Jimmie

I just got a new Vaquero last week:thumbup: and have been doing pretty good. There seems to be a lot of penny's, but 100 make a dollar. Seems to me people with VDI machines just pass over them:wiggle:. Also my nickles count has gone up.So I dig everything ! Just Saturday, I dug a 14kt gold ring (I was unable to get the picture to download so I didn't post) and the silver Tiffany & Co locket. Even with my Tejon I have been doing pretty good this year. Tesoro's are now my main use detector, don't think I'll ever use any other maker's detectors:clapping:

So far I have picked up a lot of change. One of my favorite hunting places for change is undergoing a big change. The School is expanding and has bought several old Houses in the area. Some of these are already vacated and ready to hunt. This school was the site of a county Fair that dated pretty far back so the possibility of old coins is good. I am waiting to get my Golden Umax back from the factory. This school is a large area so I do not want to start until I am ready to really hammer it hard. Umax should be here in the next day or so.

A quick question, I have found some Quarters that were buried pretty deep and these came up shiny. Is there any chance there are post 64 Quarters that are silver?
