Hi folks, just wanted to say hello. Ive been lurking around for a little bit. I'm kinda new to md'ing, actually i was into it 6 or 7 years ago and then a relative "borrowed" my detector and i never got it back until a couple of months ago! Then i stared going again, well to make a long story short i really didnt remember how the machine was, well it's junk! It's fine for fairly large iron pieces but small stuff like coins and anything deeper than 1-2 inches forget it. It's a old bounty hunter if anyone is curious. And even a quarter held infront of the coil would only be detected at a 1/2 inch lay it on side and it would'nt even register! so i've been puting extra cash away since then and now i'm "paitently" waiting for my brand spanking new GTI 2500 to get here! It should be on my front steps on friday :) can't wait to get out and start having some fun! Anybody got any good 2500 stories to tell? Sorry as i'm sure this isn't much of a first post BUT you folks will at least understand why i'll be excited when i start posting some finds,LOL. The only coin i've ever dug with the BH was a wheat penny. :( I bet it sounds as though i'm a little kid, hard to believe i'm 36 years old,LOL COME ON UPS!!!!!!!!!

Hello Timberking,

Only advice I have is keep an eye on that metal detector and if that outlaw comes around that borrowed your other one put it up so he can't find it.

Welcome back!

Well timberking if your a 36 year old kid, then I'm a 57 year old kid. I'm waiting on my new tector too!A GTi 1500! :hot: Ordered it last monday, Seems like a month ago.
I wonder what the hold up is?? :rage:
Welcome back to detecting and congrads on the new tector!!

Going from that BH to a 2500 be prepared for a learning curve. There is as much difference between the 2500 and that old BH as night and day and going from a Model-T to a Lexus. Be prepared to hang around here a lot as there is plenty of help here. Good luck.

Bill

....by getting you back into detecting and with a great choice of machine too. Look forward to your posts and pics.

mmmmm....wish I had a long lost relative I could borrow a 2500 from for a decade or two. Please step forward NOW if you are such a person! LOL

Wow, from a Bounty Hunter to a 2500, what a jump!! Gonna be some learning going on, for sure!! The 2500 is one nice 'tector that will get the gooies for you once you learn her(you will see what I mean about "her") Good luck and drop back in with your questions and finds.
